Students who have earned academic credit at another accredited college of university may be allowed to transfer a maximum of six credit hours with a minimum grade of "B" and with the approval of the department chair and/or the dean of the college. Each degree program has certain restrictions concerning acceptance of courses completed at other institutions. Transfer of credits earned more than five year prior to enrollment will not ordinarily be considered. Courses that were taken on quarter hours, will be converted to semester hours.
In all cases, course work will be evaluated for equivalence to Loyola requirements; therefore, students must provide course descriptions and/or other supporting materials to assist faculty in the evaluation process.
Transfer students will be informed of the amount of credit which will transfer prior to their enrollment,if possible, but at the latest prior to the end of their first academic term in which they are enrolled.
* Jesuit MBA Exception -
The College of Business has a consortium agreement with selected AACSB-accredited Jesuit schools. Students may transfer up to 50% of their course requirements of the MBA program, exclusive of the BA 850 capstone course, at the 700- or 800-level under this agreement. A grade of "B" or higher is required in any course taken at another school to apply to degree requirements. Students must also meet the admission requirements of the other school.
Students may transfer up to 6 doctoral course credits into a doctoral program with a minimum grade of 'B'.
Students who transfer from a Loyola University New Orleans master's degree into a different Loyola degree may be allowed to transfer a maximum of nine credit hours with a minimum grade of "B" and with the approval of the department chair and/or the dean of the college.
